Election commission of india conducted state elections for 5 states including uttar pradesh in 2017 . Uttar pradesh is the dense populated state in india . Nearly ,there are 14.05 crore eligible voters are in the state . In ,that male , female and transgenders are as follows .
Male -7.7 crores
Female - 6.3 crores
Transgenders - 6,983 nos
Uttar pradesh contains 403 wards ,so the election commission of india decided to do election in 7 phase. But this time election commission increase the no of booths or polls from 1769 to 1819 . It is little bit higher compared to 2012 election held .
Election commission announced the election for the uttar prarpdesh in july 2016 itself . The 7 phase election for 403 legislative assembly seats in uttar pradesh was conducted betweeen Feb 11 2017 - 8 Mar 2017 . 60 - 61 % voters are turned out . In last election held on 2012 only 59.48 % voters are turned out .
In 2012 , Akilesh yadav's Samajwad party won in uttar pradesh . On 12 mar 2017 result upside down everyone , the BJP won 325 seats out of 403 . It was great victory for the BJP after demonetisation .
Results : BJP : 325 seats
Samajwad party : 47 seats
Congress : 07 seats
Bahujan samaj party : 19 seats
Election issues : In the past decades indian people voted to the members related to their castes and religions . But in recent years , people have understood what they need . They trying to make their decision in an proper way . Indian voters now realizing only good candidates can make changes to the society and no caste going to help them .
